Cruising is an incredible way to explore the world imagine waking up in a new destination every day, enjoying world-class entertainment, delicious dining, and endless activities all in one place. But while cruising is a dream vacation for many, (ME) there are a few small items that can make your experience even better. From staying organized to being prepared for the unexpected, packing a few extra essentials can help you get the most out of your adventure at sea. Let’s dive into some tips that will ensure your cruise is smooth sailing from start to finish!

Remember to check out my list of essentials from Amazon. When purchased through the link a small portion will be used as a donation to Practically Perfect Wishes, a nonprofit that helps people with accessible and sensory needs get their travel wish

Purchase essential cruise itens-

Bring Your Own Water Bottle Cruise ships can charge a premium for bottled water, so bring your own reusable water bottle. Fill it up at water stations around the ship to stay hydrated without the extra cost!

Mini First-Aid Kit You never know when you’ll need a band-aid, pain reliever, allergy/sinus meds, or something for an upset stomach. Pack a small first-aid kit to avoid having to search the ship for a pharmacy.

Foldable Tote Bag for Shore Excursions A foldable tote bag doesn’t take up much space in your luggage but comes in handy when you’re going ashore. Whether it’s for souvenirs, snacks, or a beach towel, you’ll appreciate the extra bag when you need it.

Ziplock Bags for Wet Items A few large ziplock bags can save your suitcase from soggy disasters. Use them for wet swimsuits or clothes after a day at the beach or pool.

Towel Clips Are a Must Don’t let your towel blow away on the deck and to secure your personal items! Clip it to your chair or lounger to keep it secure, especially on windy days. These little clips save you from constantly chasing your towel around.

Mini Magnetic Fan Cruise ships can get warm, especially on sunny days while you’re exploring the deck or in your cabin. A mini clip-on fan is a handy way to cool off in a pinch, without lugging around a bulky fan.

Waterproof Phone Case for Shore Excursions If you’re planning on doing any water-based activities, like snorkeling or kayaking, a waterproof phone case will protect your device while letting you capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments without worrying about water damage.

Portable Charger Between taking pictures, navigating the ship’s app, and keeping in touch with family, your phone’s battery can drain quickly. A portable charger ensures you won’t run out of power when you need it most.

A Quick-Dry Towel is a cruise essential that’s easy to overlook. Whether you're lounging by the pool, heading to the beach, or showering after an excursion, this lightweight and compact towel dries in no time and won’t take up much room in your bag. Plus, it's perfect for wiping down wet chairs or seats when you’re on the go!

Bring an Extension Cord (No Surge Protector)

Cruise cabins often have limited outlets, and it’s tough to keep everything charged. While surge protectors are typically not allowed, a simple extension cord with multiple outlets can solve this problem. It’s a great way to charge all your devices—like your phone, camera, or tablet—without needing to fight for outlet space. Just remember, safety first: keep the cord neatly tucked away and avoid overloading the outlets!

When it comes to cruising, the best advice is to pack light and only bring what you truly need. It’s easy to get caught up in over-packing, but remember, you want to have room for the essentials and still leave space for souvenirs or those unexpected finds. My list covers my personal must-haves, but there are plenty of other great tips out there.... so take a look, tailor it to your own needs, and pack smart! Your cruise will be so much more enjoyable when you have just the right amount of gear for comfort, convenience, and adventure. Happy sailing!
