Universal Accessibility Guide: Travel with Confidence, Magic, and Heart
When Help Wasn’t There, I Became It
I didn't start out as a travel agent. I started out as a mom, just trying to figure it all out. My child had unique needs, and I was overwhelmed, navigating airports, theme parks, and cruise ships with little guidance and even less support. I cried more than once in line, in restrooms, in quiet corners, wondering if we’d ever get to just enjoy the moment like other families seemed to. That’s why I became a travel advisor. Because you shouldn't have to figure it out alone. Every family deserves a vacation that's magical, accessible, and tailored with love. And I’m here to help make that happen.
Now on to Universal an amazingly accepting inclusive park for all!!

Whether it’s sensory sensitivities, dietary restrictions, medical needs, or mobility concerns you CAN have a joyful, well-planned Universal vacation. You deserve a getaway that feels safe, exciting, and even a little magical. And guess what? I’m here to help you every step of the way.
Before we dive into the parks, here’s what families should know and do before they travel. These early steps can make a world of difference.
Prep Before You Go: Setting the Stage for Success
🔖 Apply for the IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC):This free card helps Universal Team Members understand your child’s unique needs. It’s the key to customized support inside the parks, including the Attraction Assistance Pass. Apply early at https://accessibilitycard.org

📚 Read "Social Story Prep" Together (Free Resources):Simple, visual books help kids understand what travel looks like. I have made a few for my clients and am happy to shae with you. Topics include:
Flying in an airplane
I'm Going to Universal
I'm Going To Disney
I'm Going on a Cruise
Staying at a hotel
These gentle stories prepare kids or adults and ease nerves. I can help you find the best ones for your family.

🎭 Practice and Watch Videos of Character Meets: Costumes and interactions can be surprising or overwhelming. Watching videos ahead of time or role-playing at home helps build familiarity and reduce stress.
🧑💼 Work with an Experienced Travel Professional:You don’t pay more but you gain an expert who knows how to:
Build in sensory breaks
Choose the right hotel layout
Navigate dietary needs
Handle medical supports and mobility access
Travel pros (like me!) make the trip smoother and far more joyful.
💬 Talk About What’s Coming with Your Child: Make space for questions, worries, and excitement. Let them know what to expect and what to do when they need a break. Comfort builds confidence.
💖 You’re Not Alone You’re Supported
I’ve done these trips myself. I’ve walked the paths, talked to the teams, and stood with parents in quiet corners while their kids took a moment. I know what it’s like to want everything to go just right and to feel overwhelmed by the planning.

So take a breath. You’re doing the right thing. You’re opening the door to wonder, connection, and memories that last forever.
Next up? We’ll walk through each area of accessibility at Universal Orlando from sensory supports and dietary tips, to mobility-friendly routes and medical care inside the parks. Real advice, real experiences, and lots of encouragement.
Let’s get you ready. You’ve got this and I’ve got you.
